Neither dogs nor drones could locate an individual who was the subject of a wellness check.

On Aug. 10 at approximately 9 a.m., Chase RCMP were asked to check on a man seen near the side of Kamloops-Shuswap Road near a local music festival.

"The caller reported that the man appeared confused, was staring into a ditch and was intermittently screaming, prompting concern for his safety," Const. Sarah Van Wilgenburg said in a media release. "Officers attended the area and conducted patrols but were unable to locate the individual."

After calling in support, the Kamloops Police Dog Service attempted a track, which was unsuccessful, and a specialized RCMP unit also deployed a drone to assist in the search, but no one was located.

"No further calls were received regarding the individual," Van Wilgenburg added. "And no related missing person reports have been filed."
