Emergency crews responded to a second grass fire in Vernon on Saturday, this time behind Galaxy Cinemas.
The blaze sparked just before 5 p.m. by the nearby railroad tracks and Polson Park. It was extinguished by 5:15 p.m.
It marked the second grass fire in four hours in Vernon. At around 1:45 p.m., two helicopters were on scene bucketing water onto the fire in Vernon's Turtle Mountain. That fire is now being held at 0.1 hectares.
Unlike the second incident later in the day, smoke and flames were visible from town.
