Middle Aged Boy Band: A Music Parody & Comedy Show comes to 琉璃神社.

Backstreets Back, alright. Well, not exactly, instead a funnier version of the teen pop group is coming to 琉璃神社 on Sept. 13.

The Middle Aged Boy Band: A Music Parody & Comedy Show, totes dad bods, receding hairlines, and long-lost dance moves colliding together onstage.

Fresh off winning the 2025 TripAdvisor Travellers’ Choice Award and Consumer Choice Award for Best Comedy Club, The Comedy Department is touring across Canada with more than 55 shows this year. This will be 琉璃神社’s first opportunity to see the Middle Aged Boy Band.

Denise Jones, co-founder of The Comedy Department, says the show is interactive and unpredictable.

“Every love ballad, every ridiculous scene-  it’s all made up on the spot. And really, it’s just a serious amount of laughing. We promise a stupidly good time,” says Jones.

The improved comedy show will take place at Rotary Centre for the Arts.

According to Jones, audiences can expect improvised songs, over-the-top dance routines, and crowd interaction in a show described as “Whose Line Is It Anyway? meets the Backstreet Boys, now with more knee pain.”
