Trail takes a creative step to showcase Greater Vernon artists

First Friday Arts Trail held monthly around town with locals opening their studios to the public

The Trails Capital of B.C. has a new kind of route for locals and visitors to tour.

For more than a year now, artists have been opening their studios and homes for a monthly trail.

The First Friday Art Trail takes place on the first Friday of each month, "where local artists swing open their studio doors and invite you in," said project lead Christine Kashuba.

"Wander through cozy creative spaces, chat with the artists, and see how the magic happens."

The free event features upwards of a dozen artists throughout the region, each featuring a mix of creatives from paintings to pottery.

This month, the trail takes place Friday, Sept. 5 throughout Greater Vernon. An interactive map shows each location, artist profiles and more at .

"Bring a friend (or five) and make it a monthly tradition!" said Kashuba, whose art is created using cyanotypes.

Trail goers can take in as many or few open houses as they choose from the following areas.

Caetani Centre also has a newly curated museum and gift shop, open for people to learn the story of its late benefactor Sveva Caetani and her fascinating family history.
