Man falls out of vehicle on Vernon highway, airlifted to hospital

The person sustained serious injuries, but no criminality was expected.

A man who fell out of a vehicle on Highway 97 in Vernon was airlifted to the hospital on Monday afternoon.

RCMP responded to reports of an incident on the highway, near Tolko Industries (844 Otter Lake Cross Rd) around 3:45 p.m. April 28.

Officers attended the scene and found an individual who had fallen out of a moving vehicle. 

No criminality is expected, and the event was believed to be mental health related. The person sustained serious injuries and was airlifted to a hospital by B.C. Emergency Health Services.

Traffic was briefly backed up on Monday afternoon.
