PHOTOS: Armstrong IPE rounds up fair full of fun

Rides, animals, food, entertainment, agriculture, hobbies on display at Interior Provincial Exhibition

The population of Armstrong has officially swollen.

The Interior Provincial Exhibition is now on, for five days of rides, food, live entertainment, livestock shows, and more!

Thousands of people are expected to take in the fun Wednesday, Aug. 27 through to Sunday, Aug. 31 at the Armstrong Fairgrounds.

"From the midway thrills to the smell of mini doughnuts in the air, this is the event that fills our streets (and hearts) every year," IPE officials said. "Whether you鈥檙e here for the animals, the music, or just the horse blankets, there鈥檚 something for everyone!"

This year's theme is The Hobbiest Place on Earth, paying tribute to all the entries that compete annually in the fair. They include photography, sewing, gardening, cooking, flower arrangements, Lego builds, arts and crafts and so much more.

There are also daily themes.

Wednesday was Senior's Day.

Thursday is Dairy Day, an ode to the cows.

Friday is Retro Rodeo, so dig out your old cowpoke gear.

Bust out your Wranglers Saturday for Denim on Denim.

Wear red Sunday for Oh, Canada.

Gates open at 7:30 a.m. daily and close at 9 p.m. (re-entry allowed until 10 p.m. with daily stamp at the Wood Avenue gate).
