The BC RCMP Southeast District Major Crime Unit is investigating the discovery of human remains in the Pendleton Creek area, off Highway 1 between Cherry Creek and Kamloops. 

The death is being treated as suspicious. 

Tk鈥檈mlups RCMP were made aware of the discovery of human remains in the area near Greenstone Road on April 11. 

Major Crime investigators, alongside Forensic Identification Services, were called in to process the scene and located partial human remains scattered across an area of the rural property. 

As the partial remains are scattered across the property, police are unsure of the point of origin. 

鈥淭he investigation is in its infancy and police are looking for anyone who might have information about how this person died or how they came to be there,鈥� said Staff Sgt.Jason Smart, NCO i/c of the Southeast District Major Crime Unit. 鈥淲ork continues in an effort to determine the identity of the deceased, as well as the circumstances of their death.鈥�
