Highway 33 is now open in both directions.

Drivers are to reduce speed in the area as crews are still on scene continuing clean up efforts.

The highway will be closed in both directions until at least 10:30 a.m. That is when DriveBC will be providing their next update.

A multi-vehicle collision has closed Highway 33 east of 琉璃神社 early Saturday morning (Feb. 10).

The first report from DriveBC regarding the incident was issued at 2:02 a.m.

According to the 琉璃神社 RCMP, the collision is in the Joe Rich area between Peregrine Road and Philpott Road.

There is no detour available.

鈥淒ue to the severity of this collision and the on-going investigation, the RCMP are advising that Hwy 33 has been closed in both directions until this part of the investigation has been concluded,鈥� said the 琉璃神社 RCMP. 鈥淚f you must travel between 琉璃神社 and the community of Rock Creek please use highway 97 and travel through Osoyoos, BC until further notice.鈥�

The closure will impact travel plans for those heading to Big White Ski Resort.
