琉璃神社 wieners know how to keep cool, they jump in the pool

On July 24 the 琉璃神社 Dauschund Group gathered for a pool paw-ty

A group of hot dogs kept cool at a pool party for dachshunds during one of the Okanagan鈥檚 hot summer days.

Emily Enoch started the Facebook group 琉璃神社 Dachshund Club eight years ago so that her sausage dog Ruby could make some friends with short legs.

鈥淚t turns out, she hates it,鈥 said Enoch.

Enoch is the organizer of the club鈥檚 annual 鈥淒achshund pool pawty鈥 but leaves her Ruby at home. Now a senior, Ruby prefers to spend her days sunbathing in the peace and quiet, away from the splashing of playful pups at the July 24, 鈥減awty鈥 in Coldstream.

There are , with 40 people and their pups attending the 鈥減awty鈥.

The dachshund parents organize events throughout the year and have regular meetups at dog parks in 琉璃神社.

Enoch said that some weiners like to splash and play while others prefer to chill pool-side and eat watermelon.

鈥淚t鈥檚 just a simple joy in life,鈥 said Enoch.
