A Princeton Posse alumni will play hockey in North Dakota this fall.

Blake Sittler, goalie for the team's 2024-25 season, has committed to play for the Minot State Beavers in the American Collegiate Hockey Association.

鈥淚t鈥檚 pretty sweet, I didn鈥檛 really expect to get an offer like this a year early,鈥 said Sittler. 鈥淚 thought I would play my 20-year-old year and see what happens.鈥

Sittler, from Dodsland, Sask, played 28 games for the Posse over the past season.

Over those games he went 22 wins, two losses and two overtime losses with a 2.00 goals against average and a .930 save percentage. He was ranked one of the top goalies in the Kootenay International Junior Hockey League.

In eight Teck Cup playoff games, he went five wins, three losses and no overtime losses, with a 1.26 GAA and a .958 save percentage.

鈥淭he KIJHL was awesome, especially over this last season,鈥 Sittler said.

鈥淚 gained a lot of confidence and tweaked a lot of details. I built my game a lot and the KIJHL and Princeton were huge with that. I was very thankful to go there.鈥

Before playing for Princeton, Sittler played with the Yorkton Terriers in the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League, playing a game as an affiliate in 2022 to 2023. He then joined the Terriers to start the 2023 to 2024 season. He went four wins and seven losses with a 4.55 GAA and an .864 save percentage.
