The Penticton Vees have signed former United States Hockey League (USHL) defenceman Ethan Weber to a WHL Scholarship and Development Agreement, the club announced on July 4.
Weber, 18, is a native of Manhattan Beach, Calif., and spent the last two seasons with the USHL's Lincoln Stars in Nebraska.
鈥淓than is someone we targeted since the minute we were accepted into the WHL,鈥 said Fred Harbinson, the Vees' president, general manager, and head coach. 鈥淲e believe he has the talent to be an immediate impact player on our roster. We are very excited to have Ethan wearing a Vees jersey this season.鈥
In two USHL campaigns, the 6鈥0", 190-pound defenceman amassed 25 points in 118 career regular-season games.
Weber played minor hockey for both the Los Angeles Jr. Kings and Pittsburgh Penguins Elite before transitioning to the USHL.
He was originally selected by the Saskatoon Blades in the 2021 WHL U.S. Prospects Draft and acquired by Penticton through the 2025 expansion process.
The Vees' inaugural WHL season begins Sept. 19, when the club visits the Victoria Royals.
