The Musaic Vocal Ensemble is about to begin rehearsals for its 30th-anniversary concerts.
Monica Paul, president of the vocal ensemble, said rehearsals will begin on Sept. 8. The Summerland-based choral group will hold concerts in winter and spring.
There are 37 members expected to return to the vocal ensemble this year, but Paul would like to have additional singers, especially those with lower voices.
The winter concert will feature a lot of classical and traditional music.
鈥淲e鈥檙e going for a Christmas-y feel and tone,鈥 she said.
There will be vocal harmonies and some solos during the performance.
Musaic has had a long history in the South Okanagan. The ensemble began in 1995 and sang for Passiontide that April, with Ken Gray conducting. There were 13 members in Musaic for that performance.
Some of the original members are still part of the ensemble.
Rehearsals will be held each Monday evening from September to May. The winter concert will be held in early December and the spring concert will be in late April.
Those who would like to join are asked to contact director Zach Goerlitz at director@musaicvocalensemble.ca for an audition.
