The Musaic Vocal Ensemble will celebrate its 30th anniversary this season.
The Summerland-based music ensemble began in 1995 and sang for Passiontide that April, with Ken Gray conducting. At the time, there were 13 singers in the ensemble.
The group then performed in December, under the Musaic Vocal Ensemble name.
There are now more than 40 members in the ensemble, including four of the original singers.
Monica Paul, president of the vocal ensemble, said the group is looking for new members, especially those with lower voices, for its 30th-anniversary season. Auditions will be held to determine how singers will be placed.
Paul said Musaic has members from around the region, from 琉璃神社 to Oliver. Rehearsals are held in Summerland each Monday evening from September to May.
The choir performs a range of classical and contemporary music. Last year, the choir performed a collection of music from stage and screen. For this year, Paul said the focus will be on the choir鈥檚 older repertoire.
A winter concert is planned for the first weekend in December and a spring concert will be held around the last week of April.
Those interested in joining are asked to contact director Zach Goerlitz at director@musaicvocalensemble.ca for an audition.
