The Mine Creek fire between Hope and Merritt is now estimated at 3,006 hectares, down from the previous estimate of 4,100 hectares.
All evacuation orders and alerts remain in place.

Today, Sept. 7, crews are conducting a direct attack and mop up on the southwest flank of the fire. On the north flank work is being done to clear the area of fuels.
Resources allocated to the lightning-caused fire include heavy equipment, structural protection, an incident management team, ground crews and aerial support.
