There鈥檚 a new spot to get in shape for the summer as Planet Fitness has opened in 琉璃神社.

Opened on May 15, the fitness facility is a new alternative for people looking to maintain their physical and mental health.

鈥淲e started looking at 琉璃神社 pre-COVID,鈥� said ECP Planet Fitness Director of Operations Mark Towers. 鈥淥nce we started getting back to normalcy, we got back to the drawing board and got it open.鈥�

Once the location was set, it took around three months to open the facility and Towers couldn鈥檛 be more excited for it.

鈥淚 knew it had been in the works,鈥� said Towers. 鈥淧eople have been coming in and are really excited that we鈥檝e come to the market.鈥�

In less than a week, Planet Fitness has reported a pretty positive number of people signing up.

鈥淭he sign-ups have been good,鈥� said Towers. 鈥淸They鈥檙e] on pace with our last few opens in Canada. As word travels that we actually have the doors open, that鈥檚 sure to come even heavier.鈥�

This is the first Planet Fitness in the Okanagan and second in the Interior (Kamloops), as well as the tenth in British Columbia. Planet Fitness is located at the southeast corner of Orchard Park Mall (2271 Harvey Ave).

鈥淚t鈥檚 an absolute logical spot for us, giving it being right on the main drag and having loads of parking,鈥� said Towers.
