The newly constructed Harvey Avenue and Richter Street pedestrian overpass bridge has already been vandalized, and now RCMP are on the hunt for the suspects.
The bridge opened to foot traffic on June 6.
Police are investigating the vandalism that occurred on Aug. 10, at about midnight. According to 琉璃神社 RCMP, two people were seen on video surveillance defacing multiple sections of the new overpass, with spray paint, as they walked through the area.
“Approximately ten minutes later, one of the suspects climbed over the safety railing and proceeded to tag the interior portion of the concrete support structure,” said Cpl. Allison Konsmo.
Before leaving the area, both suspects reportedly took pictures of the graffiti and then left by way of the overpass on foot.
“The surveillance footage from the area has led investigators to seek public assistance in identifying two individuals believed to be involved,” said Cpl. Konsmo.
