UPDATE: Highway 97 eastbound reopened in West 琉璃神社 following crash

The crash happened just after 7:30 a.m.

UPDATE 11:07 a.m.

DriveBC is stating the crash scene is now clear and Highway 97 eastbound in West 琉璃神社 has reopened.

A witness also confirmed to Black Press Media that the incident has been cleared.

Delays in the area are still expected.

Emergency crews were on scene for nearly two hours.


UPDATE 10:57 a.m.

Highway 97 eastbound at Bridge Hill will remain closed for another hour, says DriveBC.

An assessment is still in progress.

The next update is scheduled for 11:45 a.m.

Residents in West 琉璃神社 will have to reconsider plans to cross the William R. Bennett Bridge on Saturday morning.

A crash has closed Highway 97 eastbound at Bridge Hill in West 琉璃神社 from Boucherie Road.

The incident occurred just after 7:30 a.m. on Aug. 23. It's unknown at this time how many vehicles are involved or if anyone is injured. According to multiple social media comments, a motorcycle was involved in the crash.

Delays are expected in the area. Traffic control is on scene.

An assessment is in progress, however DriveBC isn't expected until 10:45 a.m.
