Smoke may be visible from the hills around 琉璃神社 in the coming weeks, but it is no cause for concern.
Wildfire fuel mitigation project work and open burning is taking place around 琉璃神社 and Lake Country this month.
The District of Lake Country has reported that controlled burns will be taking place on Spion Kop mountain over the coming weeks thanks to a 鈥渇avourable venting forecast and recent snow making the cut piles wet.鈥
The district said that Lake Country residents may notice smoke from the burn piles on the east side of Spion Kop above The Lakes neighbourhood. The public is asked to stay away from the area during the burning process. The district asks that residents do not call 911 for smoke sightings.
The fire department is in communication with the wildfire team and will be notified when the burns will occur.
