More than 50 men and women put on their bow ties and riding gloves and hit the roads in 琉璃神社 on May 25 to raise funds for prostate cancer research and men's mental health. 

Kickstands went up at 10 a.m. at M&M Performance for the annual Distinguished Gentleman's Ride. 

"I'm a motorcycle guy and I definitely know a number of gentlemen that have been diagnosed and have been successfully treated for prostate cancer," said one of the ride hosts Jim Lewis about why he got involved. 

Lewis was second in individual fundraising, collecting just over $5,000 for the cause. Lewis sat one place behind his co-organizer Rob Siddon who raised $10,220 for the ride. 

"He was the top fundraiser before I came along," Siddon joked, adding that he was glad to join forces. 

"I like vintage motorcycles and I just wanted to give back to the community," Siddon said about his involvement as a host. "I thought prostate cancer and men's mental health are pretty good causes, so I get to do something I love with something important."

Riders went down Highway 97 into 琉璃神社's downtown before returning to M&M Performance on McCurdy Place. After the ride, attendees enjoyed free hair cuts with Sport Clips and food and beverages from Milestones. 

This year's ride raised over $26,000. 

The event was originally set to take place May 18, but weather postponed the ride by a week. Lewis said a ride with a small handful of people did take place on May 18 for the few riders who could not attend the new date. 

The Distinguished Gentleman's Ride is a worldwide event that started in Sydney, Australia in 2012. Learn more about the fundraiser at .
