The fourth annual Walk for Her will take place at Mission Park Greenway on May 31 from 10 a.m. until noon.
The event is a local and global initiative dedicated to raising educational and empowerment opportunities for women and girls.
Started by the charity Her International, those who walk on May 31 will be taking a step in solidarity with women in Nepal to help create a brighter, more equitable future for women.
President at Her International Deena Hills said the Walk for Her is more than just a walk, it鈥檚 a movement.
鈥淏y taking part, individuals and communities demonstrate their commitment to gender equality, access to education, healthcare, and the overall well-being of women and girls,鈥 said Hills.
Funds raised through this initiative will directly support programs that provide educational scholarships for girls and provide empowerment opportunities for women in Nepal.
鈥淭he two hours we walk represent the time women in rural Nepal walk every day just to collect firewood. Every minute we walk brings us closer to a world where every woman and girl has the opportunity to thrive,鈥 explained Hills.
Join the walk at Mission Park Greenway or from anywhere around the world as a solo trip or with a group.
