Five community foundations are helping bring more affordable housing to the Thompson Okanagan region. 

The BC Interior Community Foundation, Shuswap Community Foundation, Community Foundation of North Okanagan, Community Foundation of South Okanagan Similkameen and Central Okanagan Foundation have each purchased $20,000 of Propolis bonds to close the housing cooperative's $1.1 million bond campaign. 

Propolis has been campaigning for support to construct a six-storey mixed-use development in Kamloops's North Shore with net-zero residential units. 

鈥淲e are humbled to see the ways that the community has rallied together to support our first community bond campaign. It is so inspiring that the community foundations鈥� mission to make transformative social impact through local investment coincides with our goal to increase housing affordability,鈥� said Lindsay Harris, executive director of Propolis.

Central Okanagan Foundation (COF) is excited to be part of the boost, stating this is its first impact investment.
