Visits at Salmon Arm seniors care home will be more comfortable thanks to $26K in upgrades from Rotarians.
Bastion Place, a long-term care facility run by Interior Health, recently received an array of furnishings from the Salmon Arm Rotary Club.
Two palliative care rooms were each furnished with a Lazy-Boy recliner, side table, a four-drawer chest and a
42-inch-Smart TV. The family room, used by those visiting loved ones, was provided a sofa and matching chair as well as a TV.
In addition, the club also purchased three Broda wheelchairs to improve the mobility of the Bastion residents.
"With the help of City Furniture and National Seating and Mobility, we were able to purchase these items in a cost effective way," said the club in a media release, which notes these endeavours are possible due to public support of club initiatives such its Fly the Flag program. "It is with the community support that this project was possible."
