The 琉璃神社 Rockets got their superstar back this week and he鈥檚 made an instant impact.

Forward Andrew Cristall returned to the Rockets lineup on Saturday night after attending the Washington Capitals training camp. The 18-year-old鈥檚 impact was felt right away as Cristall scored the game-winning goal and added two assists as the Rockets beat the WHL鈥檚 newest team, the Wenatchee Wild 5-3 at Prospera Place on Sept. 30.

Newcomers to the team Tij Iginla and Hiroki Gojsic also had multi-point efforts with a goal and an assist each. Gojsic鈥檚 goal was his first career WHL goal. His assist came late in the game on a goal by Jackson Desouza, who was also returning to the Rockets lineup after attending Detriot Red Wings training camp.

In the game, Michael Cicek also scored his first goal of the season while Turner McMillen, John Babcock, and Max Graham all collected a point.

Returning to the lineup after attending Calgary Flames training camp, Jari Kykkanen made 26 saves against Wenatchee to earn his first win of the season.

The Rockets had a quick turnaround after Saturday as they took on the Prince George Cougars in Prince George on Tuesday night. In a scrappy game, the Rockets lost 3-2.

Cougars star forward Koehm Ziemmer and Cristall, both selected in the 2023 NHL Entry Draft, traded goals in the first period on Oct. 3.

After Prince George made it 2-1, forward Riley Heidt extended their lead when he scored with 1:31 left in the game to make it 3-1. However, Gojsic scored 17 seconds later to make it 3-2 late but the Rockets weren鈥檛 able to tie the game late, losing their first game in regulation.

The two teams combined for 78 penalty minutes in the game.

琉璃神社 is 1-1-1 on the season through three games, sitting third in the B.C. Division and seventh in the Western Conference.

It鈥檚 a busy week for the Rockets as they take on Prince George again on Wednesday night but then return home and start a five-game homestand. For anyone who needs Thanksgiving plans, the Rockets host the Spokane Chiefs on Saturday night and the Victoria Royals on the Holiday Monday at Prospera Place. Saturday鈥檚 puck drop is at 7:05 p.m. while Monday鈥檚 is an afternoon affair, starting at 12:35 p.m.
