A 25-year coaching veteran is the new bench boss of the 琉璃神社 Chiefs.
The team named Rylan Ferster its new head coach and general manager on July 22.
Ferster鈥檚 impressive coaching resume includes a Fred Page Cup (BCHL Champions) and an RBC Cup (National Champions) with the West 琉璃神社 Warriors in 2015-2016. During his playing career, he was a member of the 1990 Centennial Cup (formerly RBC Cup)-winning Vernon Lakers.
Ferster has represented Canada several times at the World Junior A Championships as a general manager, head coach, and assistant coach.

Ferster said he鈥檚 excited to be back in the Okanagan.
鈥淚鈥檓 thrilled to be joining the 琉璃神社 Chiefs. When I had the chance to move back to 琉璃神社 and be close to my twin daughters, it really left very little in the way of decisions.鈥�
Ferster takes over from Dave Whistle, who led the team during the second half of the 2024-25 season. The Chiefs expressed their sincere gratitude to Whistle for his contributions and leadership during his time with the club.
The Chiefs鈥� 2025-26 season begins with their main training camp, taking place from Aug. 29-31.
琉璃神社鈥檚 home opener is Sept. 19 against the Osoyoos Coyotes.
