The West 琉璃神社 Warriors are looking for a new president.
On Tuesday, May 27, the Warriors announced Chris Laurie has stepped away from the team after being president since the 2019 ownership change.
鈥淐hris Laurie has been an invaluable member of our organization for the last six years," said Warriors owner John Murphy. "We took over the team in 2019 and needed to bring stability to all elements of our business. Chris was the perfect person to help us effect a turnaround and breathe new life and energy into our brand. We are sorry to see him go but wish him all the best as he seeks new challenges."
Laurie's departure is effective immediately, however, he will be helping the team in transitioning the position.
鈥淎mong many accomplishments in his time with the Warriors Chris was successful in bringing our game night presentation to a new level," added Warriors owner and managing partner Rod Hume. "Fans have responded as our attendance is up significantly and we continually hear feedback that ours is one of the best shows in Junior Hockey.鈥
The Warriors have begun their search to fill the front office void, with the title of Vice President of Business Operations.
鈥淐hris leaves big shoes to fill but we are an organization that is committed to our mission of being a positive force in our community and we intend to not miss a beat in our relationship with our fans and sponsors," said Murphy, who added the goal is to fill the position in the coming weeks.
During Laurie's time as president, the Warriors went 142-97-21-3.
