August 26, 1932 - December 12, 2024

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our Mom, grandma, and great grandma, Inez Lila Tarbet (nee Mathison) on Dec. 12, 2024 at the age of 92 in 琉璃神社 BC. The family extends heartfelt thanks to the staff at David Lloyd Jones care home where Mom spent her final years.

Predeceased by her father Oscar and her mother Ida Mathison, as well as her brothers Harry, Morris and sister Myrtle, only her youngest brother Clarence remains of the 5 children. Mom is now reunited with her beloved husband of 47 years, Capt. Hugh John McGregor Tarbet (April 17, 1928 - January 14, 2002)

Survived by her three children Donna-Jean Nikkel (Ken), Douglas Stewart McGregor Tarbet (Gwen) and Sheila Mary Wilkerson, grandchildren Lance, Jessica, Luke, Samantha, John, Kenzie, Dirk, Hugh, and great grandchildren Bonnie, Carlos, Cedric, and Millie, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Mom loved her garden, especially her sweet-peas. She was also a great baker and reader. Inez often read books aloud to our father, because he enjoyed it so much. Mom and Dad enjoyed their trips with their trailer back to Saskatchewan and throughout BC to visit relatives. Inez also very much enjoyed her Tim Hortons coffee group in her later years.

A grave-side service will be held in the summer in 琉璃神社. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of British Columbia or to the BC Cancer Foundation.
