The Critteraid Animal Sanctuary in Summerland has received a $1,500 donation from the Christian Labour Association of Canada (CLAC) as part of the union鈥檚 Building Communities program.

Thomas Welder, a member of the Construction Workers Union, CLAC Local 63, nominated Critteraid for the donation.

鈥淪erving Okanagan communities for over 30 years, Critteraid Animal Sanctuary promotes and fosters animal welfare through their sanctuary located in Summerland,鈥 he said.

鈥淥ver the years, the organization has helped thousands of cats and other animals find their forever homes.鈥

Critteraid began in the 1990s as a cat sanctuary, but since that time, it has taken in dogs and other animals as well.

A charity shop in downtown Summerland raises money to support Critteraid.

The Christian Labour Association of Canada was formed in 1962 and represents more than 60,000 workers in Canada.
