A Salmon Arm man received a police escort back into his assisted-living residence following a short-lived protest over beer.
Staff at the residence on 11th Street NE contacted the RCMP at 8:30 p.m. on July 15, to report a resident in a wheelchair had rolled out of the building in protest. This was allegedly in response to staff having refused to provide the resident with his beer allotment for the day.
"Salmon Arm RCMP located the 61-year-old male uninjured, but laying on the ground in the parking lot," said Salmon Arm RCMP media liaison Const. Andrew Hodges in a news release. "The man had calmed down, was helped back into his wheelchair, and agreed to apologize to staff for his belligerent behaviour."
