Your Independent Grocer is owned by Loblaws—which also owns Real Canadian Superstore—and in addition to the new location for wine sales in Kelonwa, it was also announced that the Real Canadian Superstore in Vernon will now start selling wine as well.
Both the ÁðÁ§ÉñÉç and Vernon locations will have a wine expert in store during peak business hours to advice customers on the wines the store will carry.
Meanwhile, another grocery store chair, Safeway, has opened an standalone liquor store in ÁðÁ§ÉñÉç's Central Park retail centre.
The store, which used to be a Liquor Town outlet, is the second Safeway liquor store in B.C.—the other is in Fort St. John—and is part of an 85-store chain across the country run under with the Safeway, Sobey's and Thrifty Foods banners.
