Both fires that sparked later Friday night east of Highway 3, near Keremeos, are under control.
The East Manuel Creek wildfire (0.6 hectares in size) and Upper Reed Creek (0.009 hectares) are not projected to spread beyond their current perimeter.
Lightning is the suspected cause of both blazes.

One of the two fires that sparked late Friday night east of Highway 3, near Keremeos, is under control, according to BC Wildfire Service (BCWS).
The East Manuel Creek wildfire, 0.6 hectares in size, is not projected to spread beyond its current perimeter. It is located just north of Fairview Road.
Another fire in the area, the Upper Reed Creek, remains out of control and 0.009 hectares in size, BCWS said in an update at 10 a.m.

BC Wildfire Service (BCWS) says it is on-scene east of Keremeos on Friday morning, Aug. 30, fighting two out-of-control blazes.
Lightning is the suspected cause of the Upper Reed Creek and East Manuel Creek wildfires, which were discovered Friday night (Aug. 28).
Both fires are 0.009 hectares in size, located just east of Highway 3.
One initial provincial attack crew is on-scene fighting the blazes.
There are currently no area restrictions near either incident, BCWS said.
