UPDATE: Power restored for close to 600 residents south of Penticton

FortisBC is reporting a repair outage southwest of Penticton on July 4.

Update: 5 p.m.

FortisBC says power has been restored for close to 600 customers south of Penticton, following an afternoon outage.

The outage was reported at 1:58 p.m. and affected residents just west of Kaleden, along Highway 3A.

Original: 4 p.m.

Close to 600 FortisBC customers are without power south of Penticton on Friday afternoon (July 4).

The province's largest energy provider reported the outage for customers just west of Kaleden, along Highway 3A, at 1:58 p.m.

The cause of the outage remains under investigation, FortisBC said.

The latest estimate for when power will be restored is by 4:45 p.m.
