UPDATE: Person in critical condition following ATV crash in Vernon

A crash reportedly involving an ATV took place on Vernon's Pleasant Valley Road Tuesday afternoon, April 15, 2025.

Update: 12 p.m. April 16

A person was taken to hospital in critical condition from the scene of an ATV crash in Vernon Tuesday afternoon. 

BC Emergency Health Services (BCEHS) says it received a call about a motor vehicle incident in the 7400 block of Pleasant Valley Road at 4:19 p.m. April 15. An ambulance with primary care paramedics and an advanced care paramedic response unit went to the scene. 

"Paramedics provided emergency medical treatment to one patient who was transported to hospital in critical condition," BCEHS said. 

BX Swan Lake Fire Department requested assistance from police at the Pleasant Valley Road property for an ATV incident around 3:50 p.m., the Vernon North Okanagan RCMP told The Morning Star Wednesday. 

A person was driving an ATV on the property when the vehicle rolled, pinning the person underneath it, said RCMP media relations officer Const. Chris Terleski. 

"Emergency crews responded to assist the person who was taken to hospital with serious injuries," Terleski said.

There are reports of an ATV crash on Vernon's Pleasant Valley Road that may have led to a serious injury. 

Fire engines, an ambulance and paramedic vehicles can be seen stationed in the 7400 block of Pleasant Valley Road, where a person reportedly crashed on an ATV around 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 15. RCMP was also called to the scene.

Dispatch alerted first responders that a person was trapped beneath an ATV and bleeding from the head. 

A witness said an ambulance left the scene with no lights or sirens shortly before 5 p.m. Pleasant Valley Road was also blocked off at the scene, according to the witness.

The extent of any potential injuries is unknown at this time.
