A new optometry clinic has opened its doors in 琉璃神社鈥檚 Guisachan Village Shopping Centre, introducing a fresh approach to eye care that emphasizes comprehensive service, advanced technology and a curated collection of eyewear.
鈥 conveniently located just a short drive from the Mission, Kettle Valley, Landmark and downtown 鈥 is more than just another eye clinic. It鈥檚 a practice rooted in personal experience, community connection and the belief that clear, comfortable vision is key to living life fully.
The story behind Visionology begins in a kindergarten classroom, where a young student struggled to see.
鈥淢y kindergarten teacher was the first person to notice I was having difficulty,鈥 says Dr. Nancy Friessen, Optometrist and owner of . 鈥淪he suggested my parents take me to see an eye doctor, and it turned out I needed glasses badly. Within a month of getting my first pair, I caught up at school and even managed to graduate to Grade 1.鈥

That early experience with vision challenges shaped not just an academic trajectory but also a professional path. From those first glasses to contact lenses as a teenager 鈥 and eventually LASIK surgery in adulthood 鈥 Dr. Nancy鈥檚 journey through various vision correction options offers valuable insight into what patients experience every day.
鈥淚鈥檝e lived through many of the same things my clients are going through,鈥 she explains. 鈥淚 see my role as delivering thorough eye care while listening closely to clients鈥 concerns and finding the best eyewear options for their lifestyles.鈥
