It's being called one of the most outstanding playoff performances in recent WHL history.
Former 琉璃神社 Rockets forward Andrew Cristall already has the most points of any skater, since Lethbridge鈥檚 Brad Morrison鈥檚 37-point run in the 2018 postseason, and is tied for eighth among all skaters in playoff points since 1996, according to a WHL media release.
Cristall and the Spokane Chiefs currently have a 2-0 series lead over the Portland Winterhawks in the Western Conference Championship.
He has points in all 12 playoff games and leads in goals (17) and points (33) while tying for fifth in assists (16). Cristall is also tied for the league lead in game-winning goals with three.
In Game 2 against Portland, the 20-year-old scored his second hat trick of the playoffs in a 6-5 overtime win. On Sunday (Apr. 27), Cristall was named Tempo WHL Player of the Week for the fourth time in the 2024-25 season. He also took Player of the Month honours in November 2024.
He is nominated for the Four Broncos Memorial Trophy for WHL Player of the Year, was named to the 2024-25 WHL Western Conference First All-Star Team member, and won the Bob Clarke Trophy as the regular season鈥檚 top scorer with 132 points (48G, 84A) with the Chiefs and the Rockets.
Cristall has 157 goals and 255 assists for 412 points in 248 regular-season games, making him the first WHL player in the 21st century to hit the 400-point mark.
He was drafted by the Rockets in the first round of the 2020 WHL Prospects Draft and was traded to Spokane in January. Cristall was selected by the Washington Capitals with the 40th overall pick in the second round of the 2023 NHL Entry Draft.
The Chiefs look to take a stranglehold on the Winterhawks when they travel to Portland for Game 3 of their series on Wednesday, April 30.
