A brush fire that grew to half a hectare in size was quickly extinguished by West 琉璃神社 Fire Rescue (WKFR) on Wednesday night.
Just after 9 p.m. on July 2, WKFR received reports of the blaze behind Okanagan RV Park on Ross Road.
When crews arrived on scene, they found a Rank 3 fire that was already a half hectare in size that was "aggressively in a stand of heavy timber, about 90 metres from structures," said WKFR deputy fire chief Brent Watson.
Crews were able to extinguish the fire quickly to accessible water from a nearby hydrant, stating the operation was "relatively straight forward."
There was no structures effected and no injuries occurred. It is believed to be human-caused.
WKFR attended the scene with four engines and a command unit.
