A West 琉璃神社 duplex sustained heavy damage from a fire early on June 12.
At 2:30 a.m. on Wednesday morning, West 琉璃神社 fire crews received calls of a fully-involved fire at a duplex on Last Road.
The first crew that arrived to the scene made sure all residents were out of the building, as well as evacuating the neighbouring apartment.
In total, 26 firefighters attended the scene and doused the fire while trying to limit damage to other structures. The next-door apartment sustained some smoke damage but once cleared, residents were able to return home.
No one was injured in the blaze.
The RCMP, emergency services, Fortis Gas and B.C. Hydro and ESS also attended the scene.
At this time, fire crews remain on scene as an investigation is ongoing. Because of this, the West 琉璃神社 Fire Department is asking people to avoid the area of Last Road at Brown Road.
The cause is unknown at this time.
