The family of a young Vernon man who was seriously injured in a highway crash near 琉璃神社 is appealing to the public for support.
Highway 33 was closed in both directions early Saturday morning, Feb. 10, due to a multi-vehicle collision in the Joe Rich area between Peregrine Road and Philpott Road. 琉璃神社 RCMP released little information about the crash, aside from saying it was serious.
On Tuesday, Vernon resident Tim Edwards set up a GoFundMe page to garner support for his son, Isaiah Foureyes-Edwards, who was involved in the crash, the Edwards family confirmed to The Morning Star Saturday, Feb. 17.
鈥淥ur son was involved in a head on collision and got the worse of it,鈥 Edwards wrote, explaining his son suffered a broken femur, wrist, ribs and collarbone, and also had to get plastic surgery on both hands.
Edwards said his son is in the 琉璃神社 General Hospital 鈥渁nd there is no estimated time for discharge.鈥
Edwards said the family is hoping to raise funds to help cover expenses such as food, hotel stays and gas.
鈥淚t would be greatly appreciated in these trying times, anything would help,鈥 Edwards wrote.
The has so far raised just over $1,000 in four days.
