Lake Country RCMP saw a slight drop in calls for service in 2023 over 2022.
Officers responded to 1,021 calls in 2022 and 962 last year, a drop of 5.8 per cent.
The most frequent calls for service the RCMP received, year over year, were causing a disturbance, common assault, mischief, traffic violations, and uttering threats.
鈥淭here are no hot spots to speak of,鈥 Sgt. Jon Collins told council at its regular meeting on Feb. 20. 鈥淣othing exciting which is good news.鈥
Property offences, which cover crimes such as shoplifting, theft from vehicles, fraud, and others, saw a 10 per cent drop in 2023 from 2022.
鈥淎s can be expected we see higher crime types in the summer months and lower in the winter, but in general the numbers are generally consistent,鈥 Collins added.
