Multiple emergency crews are at the Sandman Hotel on Enterprise Way after several people complained of possible "irritant exposure."
The call came in around 11:15 a.m.
琉璃神社 Assistant Fire Chief, Jason Beddell, told Black Press Media that they responded to a call for service about a potential carbon monoxide leak.
"We have two search teams going floor to floor just to make sure we find anybody in need, but also trying to find the source of the irritant and just focused on the building aspect of the hotel in the tower here," he said. "That's where the call for service came from and that's where the people that were in the building are identifying the issue came from."
There are reports of people throwing up and the building has been evacuated.
At least three ambulances are on scene and a staging area has been set up in the parking lot.
FortisBC has also been called to the scene.
