The Peachland Lions Club got a well-deserved thank-you and a $750 donation from Mayor Patrick Van Minsel and council at the June 24 council meeting.
Club members attended to accept a certificate of appreciation and a cheque recognizing their efforts at the District鈥檚 annual Peachland Open House & BBQ, held earlier this month.
The Lions Club served up free food at the June 11 event, volunteering their time and energy to help bring the community together 鈥� a gesture council said didn鈥檛 go unnoticed.
鈥淲e would like to express our sincere gratitude for your outstanding service and unwavering commitment to our community,鈥� said Mayor Van Minsel, handing over the certificate and cheque.
鈥淵our enthusiasm, teamwork and community spirit helped create a fun, inclusive and welcoming atmosphere for both residents and visitors,鈥� he added.
The mayor said the Peachland Lions Club 鈥渆xemplifies the true meaning of service,鈥� pointing to the group鈥檚 ongoing efforts to support local events, lift up others, and 鈥渂uild a stronger Peachland for all.鈥�
