Multiple Rutland roads to be restricted to local traffic for Vaisakhi parade

Sumac Road, Sycamore Road, Wallace Road and Ortt Road will be restricted to local traffic from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The annual Vaisakhi parade is taking place on Saturday, April 26, shutting down some Rutland roads.

From 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Sumac Road, Sycamore Road, Wallace Road and Ortt Road will be restricted to local traffic to accommodate the parade. Additionally, rolling closures will be in place from 12 p.m. until 2 p.m. Flaggers will be on scene all day to direct traffic.

Starting at 9 a.m., parking will be restricted along the parade route. Attendees are asked to park at Rutland Middle and Secondary Schools. Shuttle buses will be available to transport participants to and from the Okanagan Sikh Temple. 

The parade is set to start at 12 p.m.
