UPDATE: Rutland incident involved 3 people, investigation ongoing

Police arrived on scene just after 8 p.m.

琉璃神社 RCMP have confirmed the incident they responded to on Monday night (May 26) involved three people. 

"At this time this is still an on going investigation," stated RCMP. "There is no danger to the public safety and no further details can be released at this time."

The incident happened at 280 McIntosh Road and officers were on scene for several hours.

More than five RCMP vehicles surrounded Samuel Place on McIntosh Road, Monday night. 

Samuel Place is a supportive housing building, operated by the John Howard Society of the Okanagan and Kootenay in conjunction with BC Housing. 

According to a witness, yelling was heard in the area near the apartment just after 8 p.m.

Several minutes later, multiple RCMP were on scene, blocking Asher Road at McIntosh. 

Police were also seen searching the alley behind Samuel Place. 

It鈥檚 unclear what caused the police presence.
