琉璃神社's Gospel Mission is ready to offer hot meals to those staying at their two emergency shelters and to the city's unhoused community, this Easter.
"While we serve meals every single day of the year, Easter is different," said executive director Carmen Rempel. "The Christian holiday of Easter is meant to celebrate the death and resurrection of Jesus - a story of hope when all looks hopeless. It is because of this message of hope that we take celebrating Easter seriously at KGM. It鈥檚 a day when we ratchet it up a notch鈥攕erving not just nourishment, but a banquet of hope, dignity, and community."
The meal is prepared by Chef Jeremy Lupen and his team. Dinner will be served with the help of 25 volunteers at noon on April 19. At the same time, outreach workers will deliver hot meals to those experiencing unsheltered homelessness around the city.
The Gospel Mission is asking people to join in the celebration by sending in Easter blessings and donations. Learn more at .
