Thousands of residents lost their air conditioning in 30 C temperatures as power was knocked out from West 琉璃神社 to Summerland on July 5.
Approximately 15,000 customers lost their power around 1:30 p.m.
BC Hydro crews arrived on the scene to assess the situation around 2:15 p.m. and power was restored around 3:45 p.m.
The cause of the outage was not immediately determined.
Six days later, on July 11, another outage knocked out power for 12,500 customers for approximately 60 minutes until hydro crews were able to restore service.
It was later discovered that a faulty substation was to blame for that outage.
