Book readers have reason to celebrate this Saturday (Apr. 27).
It鈥檚 Canadian Independent Book Store Day.
Once Upon a Bookstore in 琉璃神社 has several activities planned for the event.
鈥淚ndie booksellers, like myself, are experts in their field, passionate about facilitating connections between reader and writer and creating genuine, lasting relationships with their customers,鈥� said owner Melissa Bourdon-King.
鈥淥ur stores function as pillars of the community, inclusive spaces for conversation and hubs for events promoting enlightenment and entertainment.鈥�
Event details:
- Saturday, Apr. 27 - 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. at Once Upon a Bookstore, 2795 Tutt Street, 琉璃神社;
- Author visit with local author/illustrator Karen Reczuch of the 鈥淲est Coast Wild鈥� series;
- Spin the prize wheel for everyone who comes through the door;
- Exclusive free giveaways with every purchase;
- Contest for book lovers for a chance to win a $1,000 gift certificate to the indie bookstore of their choice.
