With just six days until the federal election, the 琉璃神社 riding is being seen as a battleground between the Conservatives and Liberal candidates.
won a contentious and tight race to become the first Liberal to represent the 琉璃神社 region in more than 40 years. Four years later, Fuhr was defeated by 琉璃神社's incumbent Conservative Tracy Gray, who is also the first woman to have ever been elected in the riding.
Fuhr then stepped away from politics and Gray comfortably won a seat in the House of Commons again in the 2021 federal election.
When the 2025 federal election was called, Fuhr announced his intention to once again run against Gray for a seat in Ottawa.
Also running in the election are Trevor McAleese representing the New Democratic Party and Catriona Wright with the Green Party of Canada.
Ahead of the election, Fuhr, Gray and McAleese submitted bios, answered questions and sat down for on-camera interviews with Capital News. Wright did not respond to interview requests and did not submit a bio or answer emailed questions. Videos of the interviews are embedded in the candidate's profiles (linked below) and are also attached at the bottom of this article. The videos are also available on and .
