In the 23rd minute, Rise FC's Holly Ward scored the equalizer, with an assist from Quinn.
"Quinn became provider once more right before the break, as they played Lisa Pechersky in behind on the right-hand side. Pechersky then expertly cut inside and curled a stunning shot into the far top corner to make it 2-1 for Rise FC," noted a Vancouver Rise FC news release Saturday.
Earlier in the day, Rise FC announced a transfer agreement with the Montréal Roses FC for Canadian forward Latifah Abdu.
“I’m proud to be joining Vancouver Rise FC,” said Abdu on her signing. “I want to thank all those that made this happen, and I’m grateful to stay in the NSL. I am looking forward to participating in this new project and growing with my new teammates.”
The Rise FC will return home to Swangard Stadium on Sept. 6, facing off against the Calgary Wild FC at 4 p.m.
Vancouver Rise are part of Canada's first professional women's soccer league, the Northern Super League. The other clubs are Calgary Wild FC, Halifax Tides FC, Montréal Roses, Ottawa Rapid FC and AFC Toronto.
