NHL stars and alumni are coming to 琉璃神社 Hockey Fest this summer.
琉璃神社 High Performance (KHP) and GSL Group are putting on the event that takes place at Prospera Place on Friday, August 23.
鈥淭he love for hockey runs deep in 琉璃神社 and this event offers our community the chance to share their love for the sport and their beautiful city,鈥 said Mark Fitzgerald, co-owner KHP.
Festivities include a kids zone, hockey-themed competitions, food vendors, a beer garden, and a merchandise tent.
The 琉璃神社 Hockey Fest pro game starts at 6 p.m. at Prospera Place, with a chance for fans to see their favourite players.
NHL alumni and current stars include Tyler Myers (Vancouver Canucks/琉璃神社 Rockets), Ethan Bear (Washington Capital), Damon Severson (Columbus Blue Jackets/琉璃神社 Rockets), Brenden Dillion (Winnipeg Jets), Joel Edmundson (Toronto Maple Leafs), and Curtis Lazar (New Jersey Devils), along with newly drafted young players.
Coaching the teams are recent Hockey Hall of Fame inductee and 琉璃神社 Rocket, Shea Weber, Brent Seabrook, and former 琉璃神社 Rocket Josh Gorges.
The pro game includes a 50/50 raffle and game-worn jersey auction with proceeds supporting the YMCA of Southern Interior of BC.
