Canada's 158th birthday party is set to end with a bang in Penticton.

Fireworks will put a bow on celebratory festivities this Tuesday, July 1, as the Lakeside Resort hosts the display over Okanagan Lake Park starting at 10 p.m.

"A big thank you to all the local businesses who generously donated to the fireworks show this year," the resort said in a social media post. "Without your support, this event wouldn鈥檛 be possible."

Boaters on Okanagan Lake will not be allowed to enter the designated safety zone marked around the barge on the water during the show, the city said in a press release.

A full slate of daytime activities from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. is planned inside Gyro Park before fireworks light up the sky.

Festivities include live entertainment, face painting, arts and crafts, food trucks, kids' games, and dignitary speeches.

The city is offering free bus services on Tuesday, through BC Transit, along all Penticton routes. There will also be a free bike valet service at Gyro Park between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m.

Fireworks over Okanagan Lake Park have closed out Canada Day celebrations in Penticton over the last several years.

It's looking like sunny skies and temperatures that hover around 30 C are on deck for this year's holiday, according to Environment Canada.

As of June 26, the federal forecaster is calling for marks between 28 C and 33 C from Sunday to Tuesday.
