Vancouver-based Amelia Butcher returns to teach clay in Vernon Aug. 9-11 as part of the Vernon Arts Summer School.

An expanded lineup of immersive workshops are lined up for would-be artists this summer.

Vernon Arts Summer School (VASS) returns Aug. 4-17 at the Vernon Community Arts Centre.

The program, in its second-year features more inspiration, more workshops and more opportunities to connect with like-minded creatives.

With 12 immersive workshops, ranging from ceramics and painting to fibre arts and glass, the program is unique to B.C.'s Interior.

鈥淭his isn鈥檛 just another art class,鈥 says Rodney Goodchild, arts centre manager. 鈥淰ASS is the only experience like it in the region. It鈥檚 an opportunity to step away from your everyday routine, immerse yourself in creativity, and build lasting connections in a community-focused atmosphere. This is your chance to make art, make memories, and make connections.鈥

Workshops are between two and five days, small class sizes and expert instruction with ample hands-on experience.

A new collaboration with the Caetani Centre will see a selection of instructors (from B.C., Alberta and Ontario) hosted at the historic home.
